Pitney Bowes is world renowned for providing leading-edge global, integrated mail and document management solutions for organizations of all sizes. When they approached TransGlobe, they were looking for multifunction office space to serve as their Canadian Head Office.

The plan was to amalgamate many of Pitney Bowes' different corporate branches, including sales, demonstration services, accounting and management, into one location to streamline and centralize operations. Under normal circumstances, this would require a massive capital expenditure on the part of the tenant, involving moving people and equipment from multiple existing locations, tailoring and furnishing the new space, and custom building the necessary technological infrastructure. With TransGlobe involved, however, the circumstances were anything but normal.

When TransGlobe purchased the Aerocentre property at 5500 Explorer Dr. in Mississauga, they brokered a deal to buy not only the building, but its contents as well - contents that included a full complement of brand new office furnishings. At the same time, TransGlobe organized a deal with the previous tenants to leave the existing fibre optic voice data backbone - an infrastructure with the capacity to serve a small town - intact. So, while Pitney Bowes initially contacted TransGlobe looking to satisfy their spatial requirements, TransGlobe was able to offer them a complete leasing solution.

The ability to move into a fully furnished building drastically reduced Pitney Bowes' capital expenditure on the move, and created a comfortable, pristine work environment for their relocated employees. In the end, Pitney Bowes used 95% of the furniture provided in the deal. At the same time, having a ready-to-go voice data infrastructure ensured that the transition to the new facility was as seamless and efficient as possible, and offered Pitney Bowes significant savings in terms of time, energy and money.

Today, the Aerocentre is the only location in the world to integrate so many functions for Pitney Bowes. With four full floors and over 58,000 square feet of space perfectly adapted to serve their needs, the property houses not only Pitney Bowes' Canadian Head Office, but also Pitney Bowes Global Credit Services and Pitney Bowes Management Services.
