TD Meloche Monnex is a national leading organization in affinity marketing and the largest direct-response property and casualty insurer in Canada. They are also one of TransGlobe's largest commercial tenants - and a tenant that nearly relocated.
The company almost moved out of the Valhalla Executive Centre when it acquired Canada Life, a business that leased some of the space now used by TD Meloche Monnex. Their concerns with the existing space were twofold.
First, they needed space to grow. TransGlobe assisted by proactively moving other tenants to make the necessary room available, allowing TD Meloche Monnex to expand from its initial 30,000 square feet of floor space to approximately 70,000 square feet.
Second, TD Meloche Monnex required a dedicated HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Cooling) system for their space. Because the Valhalla space houses the insurance branch of the business, there is a requirement for employees to work long hours, and a consequent need to guarantee those employees a comfortable working environment. In addition, the high population on each floor was taxing the cooling capacity of the existing HVAC system. TransGlobe assembled a team of experts to find the best way to accommodate TD Meloche Monnex's needs, and were able to implement exactly what had been requested.
TD Meloche Monnex now occupies four floors in the Valhalla Executive Centre, all of which are served by a dedicated HVAC system. By meeting their needs on site, TransGlobe not only provided TD Meloche Monnex with the space and work environment they required, but saved them the time, expense and inconvenience of sourcing, outfitting and relocating to, a new space. As an added bonus, the load taken by the dedicated system increased the capacity of the HVAC system that serves the rest of the building, and has improved working conditions for the building's other tenants.
TD Meloche Monnex now considers TransGlobe to be like a partner in their business, and has the comfort of knowing that whatever problems or concerns they may have will be dealt with efficiently and economically.
